God's handiwork....
Thanks to Lolo's blog, we were able to read about the lunar eclipse that happened this morning. But we didn't only read about it....yes, Lolo, we were up at 3 a.m. too (thanks to Chelcie and her alarm clock!). Chelcie, Madison, Doug and I went out in our front yard (in our pj's) and took a peek at the moon. It was beautiful with an orange cast over it with the tiniest bit of brilliant white at the very bottom. (Sandy has pics on her blog so check it out!) We didn't stay out for long though. Chelcie said how very cool it is to look up at the clear night sky and see the beautiful stars and all that God has made.
That reminded me of something I had read in Psalms on Saturday.... "The heavens tell of the glory of God. The skies display His marvelous craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known. They speak without a sound or a word; their voice is silent in the skies, yet their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to all the world. The sun lives in the heavens where God placed it. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete, eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat." Psalm 19:1-6
I shared this with Doug and the kids and we agreed that God is amazing as He reveals Himself to us through the world He has created. As I was going back to sleep I was thinking of how this eclispe is a great of example of how God is a God of order. He causes all of the heavens, including this little blue planet called earth, to keep spinning and moving in perfect rotation. We could know this eclipse would happen because of the order He established in the creation of our earth and moon! I fell asleep so thankful to Him for His display!
I hope this is a memory that the girls will keep and remember God's amazing creation everytime they look up into the night sky....
