What else should we be doing on a cold, rainy afternoon? Lots of rain today and I was feeling bad for sending the kids off to school. Wait, don't kids go to school in rain and snow all over the country? Anyway, picked up my drenched kids after school, came home to a fire and hot cocoa.....not a bad way to spend an afternoon. I am blessed beyond compare!
Chelcie's new cell phone.......

is the enV by Verizon. She was due for an updgrade and has been anxiously awaiting this new phone. She forked over the $50 and now it's all hers! She loves the full key board for all her texting. I must admit, it's pretty cool. She got it back on Nov. 16th but I'm just now thinking to blog it.

Fun at Uncle Doug & Aunt Kym's

After a sleep over with all 5 grandkids and a day at the Living Desert, Sandy took advantage of some time for Camdyn and Corynn to stay at our house for a while! They liked playing with our dogs Zoe and Mini. We watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" .... the original cartoon (Sophia still reminds us of Cindy Lou Who!). Corynn fell asleep but Camdyn liked it. Corynn liked playing with Madison's baby doll and Camden had fun rocking out on Madison's play electric guitar. The girls taught Camden to play the Hi Ho Cherry O game and he like that too! We loved having them over to visit. Miss you Jody but loved loving on all your kids this weekend!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving greetings all! It's so weird without Dawn & Terry, Megan & Jeff and the girls and Amanda. We miss you so much. Who would have thought a year ago that we would be so spread out this year. We hold you all closely in our hearts!

We took some time today to talk about the things that we are thankful to God for: God's word, Jesus, our salvation, our family, our house, our beds, our dogs, our friends, our toys, and each other are a few things that we came up with. We do thank the Lord for His amazing blessings in our lives!

We headed over to Mark and Sandy's for dinner. Mark tried his hand at frying a turkey and it was delicious! It came apart and I knew that Sandy would pick it up and start having it dance....then, of course, she had Madison video it for the blog. It was hiliarious so check out Sandy's blog. We had an amazing dinner followed by Sandy's homemade pies. She makes the best pies complete with fresh made whipped cream! Delicious.

Then there was the eventful game of PIT. I am not familiar with this game but watching Mark, Sandy, Chelcie, Louise and Doug play was quite the sight!

Rob brought Nick out so we'll get to hang out for the weekend.

It was a great day and we are truly full of Thanksgiving!

CHIPOTLE is open for business!

The biggest news in the White house this week is the much anticipated opening of the new Chipotle (that's Chipote-lay) restaurant in La Quinta! They specialize in mexican fast food that delicious. They keep the menu very simple: tacos, burritos and salads and that's it. In a Subway kind of ordering fashion, you tell them what you want, what kind of meat (carnitas, steak, chicken or shredded beef) and what toppings you want. I was turned on to this place by my Dad and have loved it ever since. The girls enjoy it too. Doug is not all that impressed but that will pass, I am sure! The opening was delayed a week so we are all chompin at the bit! Thursday was free burrito day and they gave away over 3,200 burritos. It's opening day Friday and we are set to go. It'll be chicken tacos for the girls, a carnitas burrito with rice, black beans, cheese, hot red chili and cilantro (thanks for the tip Dad!) for me and Doug will try something new....maybe a shredded beef burrito! YUM, YUM ....can hardly wait!

Operation Christmas Child

It's that time of year again! We participate in a great ministry that kicks off the Christmas season. It's called Operation Christmas Child. People are encouraged to fill up shoe boxes filled with gifts for a child. The ages vary and you can select either a boy or a girl. Our girls each picked a girl to buy for. We had fun filling up two boxes with brushes, hair things, make up, cute pens and paper, small toys, cute socks, etc. Our church is a designated drop off center for other churches in our area. The girls took the boxes to church and officially delivered them. These boxes all get loaded onto a large trailer and get sent to LA to be prepped for delivery all over the world. This is a great way to share the message of Christ with children. Chelcie and Madison love putting a family picture and a handwritten note in each box inlcuding our address. Maybe someday we will get a note back!

My twirler

Yep, she was at it again! Madison's baton group performed at her elementary school's flag football game during half-time on Wednesday. It was great to have Papa and Mimi there to see her do what she loves to do. Of course Mimi brought her camera and went to town taking lots of pics of Madison! Thanks for the beautiful pictures of my girl Mimi.

Redhawk Volleyball....

Checlie plays volleyball for her school: John Glenn Middle School Redhawks. She has really developed a love for this sport. It was great to be able to take Dad and Sheila to Chelcie's game on Monday afternoon at Indio Middle School. Unfortunately, we lost but Sheila got some great pictures of Chelcie.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Oh happy day....Dad and Sheila are here visiting and today is Dad's birthday. They joined us this evening for our home Bible study and we all celebrated with a spaghetti dinner and one of Dad's favorites...German chocolate cake! It was a fun time. Dad loved getting some much wanted CDs (Frankie Valli and the Jersey Boys???) from Sheila and the book by Tony Dungy and an I-tunes card to enjoy from us. As you can see, Madison was a bit pooped from her day by the end of the evening.

We love having them here with us this week.

Love you Dad! xoxo Bugs
